I keep being told when I speak up against fat hatred, I am being passive aggressive. This seems to be a way of denying that I have a right to be angry and upset, when people say negative things about fat people’s bodies. I am told that diet ads, and society’s negative views of fat people shouldn’t affect me, and that it’s “easy to avoid diet ads, it’s your own fault for submitting yourself to them.” Thin privilege is believing that it’s a choice to be hurt by anti-fat statements. It is the ability to say diet ads aren’t a big deal, because they don’t target your body type.
Passive aggressive? How about… take your fat hatred and shove it up your ignorant, bigoted arse before I do it for you.
Does that take care of the passive aggressive label?
